What To Do Immediately After a Loved One Passes
If the death occurs in a hospital:
If your loved one passes away in hospital, the staff will assist with notifying a physician and completing medical documentation.
We can coordinate directly with the hospital to arrange the transfer, handle legal paperwork, and begin the process with care and efficiency.
If the death occurs at home or care facility:
Contact the attending doctor, who must certify the cause of death if natural.
They will issue the necessary documentation required for cremation. Staff at care or nursing facilities are often able to assist with the initial steps.
If the death is unexpected:
In cases where medical supervision was not in place, emergency services, a doctor, or law enforcement (SAPS) may need to be involved to complete the required procedures and documentation.
If death occurs away from home or overseas:
We provide repatriation services to bring your loved one home with dignity.
Our team will guide you through international regulations, transport arrangements, and all necessary documentation during this complex process.
